Lucknow: State Governor Anandiben Patel reviewed the presentation prepared for NAAC evaluation of Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow at Raj Bhavan. The university is preparing to file its self-study report for NAAC grading for the first time.
In the meeting, the Governor took information about the point-wise preparations from the members of the NAAC Committee of the University on all the seven evaluation criteria.
During the review, the Governor gave necessary suggestions to improve the presentation. She said that important achievements of the university should be shown on priority in the details. While observing the social activities carried out by the university students in the rural areas, the Governor said that during the university’s activities in the villages, the mothers in that area should be taught to identify the disabled children at the initial level itself. She said that mothers should be told to recognize the visual and hearing abilities of their children, so that proper training can be given to the child from the beginning.
While reviewing the presentation, the Governor said that this university provides one of the best educational system in the country, which has the ability to bring hopeful changes in the lives of its special students as well as the general public with disabilities. She also asked to include in the SSR the details of the number of beneficiaries of the artificial limbs provided by the university and the positive changes brought about in their lives by receiving the limbs. The Governor said that photographs of such details and details of beneficiaries should be included.
She also suggested setting up an alumni cell in the university, adding mention of special audit, obtaining grants from CSR fund of institutions for various public utility works, mentioning beneficiaries from outside the state in SSR, participation of students in NAAC preparation. She said that for the highest grade of NAAC assessment, make SSR with strong preparation and file IQA for NAAC by the first week of May.
Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Special Officer Education Pankaj Johny, Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. H.S. Jha and all the members of the NAAC team and other officers were present in the meeting.
